The Rotterdam Rules is the crystallization of ten-years hard work of the international society and it is a synthesized, modern and advanced international convention. Unifying the legal regime of international multi-modal carriage of goods through such a convention is undoubtedly a worthy goal. The Introduction briefly discusses the backgrounds, research status and the purpose of this thesis.
