Tourist Population From Mainland Of The Status And Impact Analysis Of Taiwan Province

The research of Tourist Population is based on the booming developing oftourism, and Tourist Population belongs to the Applied Demographic. The touristpopulation is part of the floating population, is a short term floating population, thus itis also called the "Floating Population of the Community" or the "Official FloatingPopulation".Tourists to Taiwan were used to be Japanese, but due to the fact that the pooreconomic condition of Japan in recent years, the willingness for traveling of them isno longer strong, and the tourist population has decreased dramatically. Instead,tourist population from mainland is increasing, especially after the policy of charterflights across the Taiwan Strait at July4,2008. The policy makes it more convenientfor people on both sides of Taiwan Strait to communicate, and allows people frommainland to visit Taiwan easily. Taiwan’s tourism industry is undoubtedly injected astream of fresh blood.The political system and social system’s difference cross-strait makes Taiwan amysterious place in the eyes of the people from mainland. However, continuedimplementation of the assuaging of cross-strait relations, and cross-strait communication facilitate policy, makes the people from mainland willing to unveil themystery, to learn and get to know the place once they do not know. The difficulty ofvisiting Taiwan, also arise the willingness of the people from mainland to visit Taiwan,which itself is another highlight. Also, it is an important reason why the touristpopulation to Taiwan increases continuously.The increasing of tourist population to Taiwan will certainly affect Taiwan’seconomic, society, environment, culture and other aspects. This paper, from ademographic point of view, based on quantitative analysis; discuss the impact andsuggestions to the future development of Taiwan’s tourism market, which has aprofound theoretical and practical significance.
