The Psychological Aid Social Support System Of Natural Disasters In Yunnan Province

In recent years, the post-disaster psychological support, which can prevent and ease psychological effects and psychological blocks caused by frequent natural disasters, and improve mental health and the development of society after disasters, is supposed to be the indispensable part of disaster aid all over the world. Psychological support is a long-term systematic project which needs efficient services provided by a strong social support system made up by governments, civil organizations, communities and market. In comparison with other provinces of China, Yunnan is an area of frequent natural disasters, stays at the leading position of psychological support. The development of social support system is at the well-growing stage. But in front of social demands, such a development is still far from being satisfactory. According to experience from other countries and areas, the author of this article tries to define the meaning of social support system for psychological support in natural disasters; analyzes the relationship among governments, civil organizations, communities and market, by using correlative systematic theories; investigates the conditions of social support system for psychological support in Yunnan Province and points out the defects; poses four solutions to improve the social support system for psychological support(applying the leading role of governments, exerting the advantages of civil organizations, searching for the basic supports from communities and making use of the complementary functions of market).Especially, by combining correlative theories and practical experiences, the author analyzes the characters of psychological support services and raises the viewpoint of making use of complementary functions of market and providing low-cost services. According to such a view, the author hopes it will be helpful to the problems about the persistence of psychological support.
