As for every country, Law is becoming more and more important in the life of our society. With the economy of our society, we need to a perfect legal system urgently, as the origin of the Civil law, more and more scholars in the world begin to pay more attention to the Roman law. The article aims at the development of the Roman law.After the collapse of the Roman Empire, The Roman Law had no complete disappearance. But in the sense of the history, we can say Roman law and the Law are in the stagnation and decadent. Before the eleven century, in the medieval Western Europe, every country relies on the German customary law. With the development of the agriculture, the renaissance of the commercial, and the rise of the city and the guild, and the people of the Western Europe began to awaken.Besides these, the mutual utilization and the struggle between the papacy and imperial power has been lasted for a long time. In every country of the Western Europe require a comprehensive and unified law system to fit for the social development. With the Corpus Iuris Civilis rediscovered, Roman law began to board the stage of the history.The article is divided in three parts. First of all, I discuss the performance of the revival of the Roman law. For example, in the economic, political, religious and the cultural field. And the second part is the center of the article. I discussed the reason of the revival of the Roman law in detail, the reason included in economic development, religious reformation, political structures and the cultural phenomenon and so on. The last part, I discuss the significance and the effect of the revival of the Roman law.
