Probing Into The Liberal Thought Of Li Zhi

Though systematic investigation of Li Zhi’s thought, this paper prove that Li Zhi’s freedom thought plays an important role in Chinese history of freedom thought. Mainly using Gerald C.MacCallum’s three-dimensional analysis method,history and logic unity analysis principle, and the evaluation methods of comparison with the history, this paper analysize and demonstrate the original factors of Li Zhi’s freedom thought, its main connotation and the ways of his demonstration of freedom thought, examine on Li Zhi’s freedom thought from three perspectives and clarify the meaning of Li Zhi’s freedom sense, with the purpose of explaining the modern sense of Li Zhi’s freedom thought.This article hold the birth of Li Zhi’s freedom thought is the enlightenment (or beginning) of the Chinese modernity, and only because it at the immature stage of enlightenment, many aspects of Li Zhi’s freedom thought is immature and self-contradictory. But it covers a wide range of almost related to all the modern liberal. And it is the freedom of a generalized human-centered freedom and the originator of the modern liberal thinking of China. There are many revelation for us concerning Li Zhi’s freedom thought:firstly, we should break through the narrow understanding of freedom,as it is not only a political sense, but has more broadly meaning. Secondly, we should attach importance to our own Chinese liberal traditions, and only based on the liberal tradition of modernity can it for our own use. Therefore, re-Analysis Li Zhi’s freedom thought is of great significance.
