The Research On Anti-poverty In Western Ethnic Areas Based On Social Capital Theory

Poverty, a century-old problem, has been plaguing human survival and development.Eliminating poverty is the common goal of human development, especially in Western ethnic regions. It is imperative to solve the poverty of Western ethnic regions.With the viewpoint of social capital theory, this dissertation, using related theory and subject knowledge in sociology, economics, politics, ethnology and management, adopts the induction and deduction logic analysis method. Based on literature review at home and aboard, this dissertation, which combined with comparison, quantitative and qualitative analysis, attempts to systematically analyze the reasons of the poverty of Western ethnic regions, and then discuss the strategies of poverty governance. In the first part, this dissertation illustrates the background and significance of this research, and also the perspective of social capital theory. It briefly describes relevant views and achievement at home and abroad, and then presents the structure and research methods of the study. In the second part it represents the core concepts and relevant theories of this dissertation. In all the definition of relevant concepts, it mainly defines the concepts of Western ethnic regions, poverty, anti-poverty and social capital. It briefly describes two basic theories---anti-poverty theory and social capital theory, and makes a brief analysis of the supportive social security function. Next it analyses the cause of the poverty in Western ethnic regions with the perspective of social capital theory. It analyzes the current situation of poverty and the process of anti-poverty in Western ethnic regions, based on which it specifically analyzes the cause of poverty in the view of social capital theory in three levels: micro-individual, moderate community organizations and macroscopic ethnic level, and then it points out that the cause of poverty in Western ethnic regions is due to the lack of social capital. Finally, based on the analysis of the cause of the three levels of social capital above, the dissertation presents relevant routing selection to anti-poverty in Western ethnic regions.
