The Northern Song Dynasty Service Law Research

Since the Wang Anshi political reform began, the political commentary and research continues. The research articles were very complicated and related to almost all aspects of the law. Muyi law became a key to research of the reform because of its finance, economic and social influence, as well as its complex service. The Song Dynasty commodity economy was highly developed, the development of commodity economy and the effect directly affected the society atmosphere, social stratum and the control of the people of the state, and these effects were reflected from the change of tax and corvee system of the Song Dynasty. Because of the good development environment, the south of the country was prosperity, and the Chaiyi law was not adapted to the need of economic development anymore. While the economic development in the north and the south had very big difference, this made taxes that related to the economy also different between the south and the north. In the late Song Renzong, one kind of phenomenon was appeared, that was change the servitude of corvee in many regions of the south, then:" people to hire service for Wu Shu, Qin Jin to the people of work as", it was the choice of social development. The Chaiyi law of the Northern Song Dynasty greatly restricted labor and hindered the social production, it was urgent to reform; Muyi law was generated in this context.There was also merit and biased contents in the predecessor to the Muyi law, especially some reviews were obvious affected by its comment historic period, thought had great political tendency. Evaluation of Muyi law from its success or failure should then impact on society, social effectiveness and whether achieve the reform objective standard, doped too much personal likes and dislikes can only make the evaluation to be unfair. I want to analyses the significance of Muyi law from the social status, in combination with the effects with the country and the society of its implementation.This paper is divided into five chapters; the first chapter mainly introduces the Chaiyi law in the early Northern Song Dynasty. I want to discuss the Chaiyi law from its category and the basis of the category; the second chapter analyzes the social background of changing the Chaiyi law to Muyi law, focus on a variety of the Chaiyi law malpractice. The Chaiyi law was not only bounded labor, but also impact the national tax collection. There was very high voice to change the Chaiyi law around the country. The third chapter mainly introduces the content of Muyi law and its implementation process, analysis the shortcomings of the law. The implementation of the Muyi law was not aware of the development of commodity economy in the north and the South that produced different effects, made it rigidly exclusion in the north. The fourth chapter’s main content is "yuan you geng hua" and the abolishment of the Muyi law. Analysis the reasons of the Muyi law had become a victim of political struggle and the process of its abolishment, the fifth chapter summarizes the Muyi law’s effect and historical significance, Muyi law while being abolished, but not obscured the Muyi law had the positive effects, it not only restrained the annexation of land, but also increased national finance revenue and the broad masses of the people from the national tour exploitation of liberation, changed the past to slavery characteristics, this is Muyi law achieved maximum results. Muyi law progressive in its later has been used, although through evolution, but the actual content did not change. At the end of the Muyi law improvements were analyzed, hope to further improve the Muyi law evaluation system.
