Comment On Corporate Social Responsibility And Government Positioning

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become a hot issue which is very concerned byall sectors of the community so far, when it has finally developed international standards ofsocial responsibility from management concepts of enterprise to the acts, since its spontaneity.All round the world, the practice of CSR have been becoming a significant influence to socialand economic life. During the society transformation in China, the construction of CSR is ofmore important practical significance. It helps enterprises to identify the correct developmentdirection and assists governments to combine the growth of macro economy with socialdevelopment. Also it is beneficial for deepening of the scientific concept of development andconstructions of socialistic harmonious society.However, many corporations have little social responsibility in our country nowadays, ithaving a serious negative effect, some of which has become community problems. It is in theway of carrying out scientific outlook on development and constructing the harmonious socialistsociety. The reasons for Chinese enterprises lacking of social responsibility include their ownfactor, also government departments do not fully play its due role is an important factor.Although the government has made a lot of efforts, but still didn’t solve lacking of corporatesocial responsibility. Then in our corporate social responsibility building process what kind ofrole the government should play in the end, and how the government should play the mosteffective role, become a great research and practical value.This article firstly carries on the limits to the corporate social responsibility’s implicationand the elaboration to the corporate social responsibility’s correlation theories. Then it elucidatesof the necessity and appropriateness of government intervention to CSR, which points out therelations between the government and CSR. After that, it introduces the development andproblems of CSR in China, finding the reasons from the perspective of the government. Finally,based on the situation of our country and development needs of CSR, the paper makes apositioning to the role of government. And it puts forward countermeasures and suggestionsabout how to strengthen the role of the government and exert governmental function as well.
