Studies Of Transgenic Plant Technical Support Measures

Transgenic plant is an important content of modern biotechnology. It has been widelyused in agricultural production. It caused a tremendous impact on traditional agriculturaltechnological revolution in the agricultural field, and brought huge economic benefits. But atthe same time, the emergence of genetically modified plants has also brought a series of socialand legal issues, forcing people to rethink how to selection and coordination in the system toprovide better, and how to have more scientific protection of transgenic plants. In recent years,some well-known large-scale bio-agriculture companies start trying to use gene technologymeasures to protect and development of new varieties of genetically modified plants.These technical protection measures include the terminator technology, T-GURTstechnology and so on. They make the seeds which the farmers plant and harvest are not sterileor control of their transgenic characteristics of expression, in order to prevent the farmersrepeated use or breeding sales switch to genetic seed for free. The transfer of such technicalmeasures in genetically modified plants appeared, immediately stirred a storm of protest, notonly in developing countries, but also in developed countries. The main reason which peoplefear is that these measures may have disastrous consequences on the poor, global foodsecurity and biodiversity in developing countries.In this paper, the technical safeguards in intellectual property protection of new varietiesof genetically modified plants and its impact, and technical safeguards and legal protection ofthese two conservation approaches, the relationship between the initial discussion, and Chinashould be how to deal with the recommendations.In addition to the preface, conclusion is divided into four parts.The basic concepts of the first part of a brief gene technology, genetically modified plantsand intellectual property protection of new varieties of genetically modified plants,technology protection measures, such as terminator technology, T-GURTs technology.The second part preliminary analyze the relationship between protection and legalprotection of technical measures. Technical safeguards for protection of the transgenic plantsof intellectual property rights is effective and necessary, but it should not prejudice thelegitimate rights and interests of the public interests and farmers cannot be outside the law. The third part focuses on its social impact, such as the adverse impact on food security,biodiversity and the destruction of traditional farmers’ rights.Finally, the fourth part is put forward some proposals on China-related coping strategies.
