The Study On The U.S. Policy Towards Pakistan And Its Impact On The US-pakistan Relations In Post-9·11

The relations between Pakistan and the United States (the US-Pak relations)hasbecome warming quickly since the “9·11” happened. The strategic value of Pakistanflared up again in the global strategy of the United States. In the “Operation EnduringFreedom”,the United States make Pakistan become the front country in theanti-terrorism war which led by the United States that has made the US-Pak relationsan international society focus.However, the government of the United States has constantly adjusted its policyin post-9·11,what’s the reaction of the Pakistan government and the Pakistani people?What purpose of Pakistan’s choice of alliance with the United States? What could weconclude from United States’s policy to the Pakistan that Sometimes hot butsometimes cold? The administration of Bush has left messes to the Obama’s,whichhas made different policy with the Pakistan government.What opportunities couldbeen brought about to the both countries? In order to study the US-Pak relations,all ofthese questions need to be discussed.Meanwhile,both the two countries haveimportant interests with China, the adjust of the US-Pak relations will produce aneffect on China. Therefore, it is necessary to study the relations between the Pakistanand the United States.This paper is divided into three parts:The first part of this paper mainly discuss the development of the United Statespolicy towards Pakistan after “9·11”, Which contains the contents and measures ofSouth Asia policy of the Bush administration, and the Afpak policy of the Obamaadministration.The second part talks about the U.S. policy of Pakistan and its impact on theUS-Pak relations since the“9·11”, mainly discusses from the two stages: the firststage is the Bush administration, the US-Pak relationship have gone through theleague-cracks-the reconstruction of the Union；the second stage is the uncertain relations between Obama administration and Pakistan government.The third part is the impact on South Asia and the Surrounding areas caused bythe U.S. policy towards Pakistan, which analyse from the aspects of United States,India-Pakistan and China.
