Huang Yan-pei(1878-1965) was a famous patriotic and democratic educator,social activist, and the primary establisher of vocational education in modern times ofChina as well. The Chinese vocational education association founded by him markedthe beginning of Chinese modern vocational education. Through years of experiments,researches and theoretical exploration, Huang Yan-pei set up a theory system ofvocational education which was quite suitable for Chinese situation and professionalethics education is the most distinctive and significant component of educationaltheories put forward by him. He summarized the basic requirements of professionalethics education as “devotion and gregariousness”, focusing on cultivating students thespirit of serving the society and being cooperative as well as shaping their loftysentiment of “Being the first one to take responsibilities while the last to benefit.Meanwhile, the basic contents of his professional ethics education also include thefollowing requirements: respecting work and doing things yourself, possessing noblepersonality and strict discipline etc. Huang Yan-pei drew many principles and methodsof implementing professional ethics education from practices. Students can form theirprofessional ethics through the joint efforts of edification of teacher’s professionalethics, professional ethics practice, their own self-discipline and self-reflection.This thesis analyzes the current situation of professional ethics and its educationin China, and illustrates the practical significance of applying Huang Yan-pei’s theoryof professional ethics education to enhancing professional ethics education andbuilding socialistic spiritual civilization and material civilization though the followingaspects: taking Huang Yan-pei’s standard of professional ethics training for reference,implementing professional ethics training; studying the implementing ways ofprofessional ethics education, developing professional ethics education positively;mastering the primary contents of professional ethics education thoughts anddeveloping professional ethics education centering on them; establishing a full-scalevocational education outlook and practically strengthening professional ethicseducation.
