| Chinese Contemporary non-governmental organizations are independent of the government and enterprises. They are committed to public welfare, and they are non-governmental, nonprofit, and autonomous intermediary organizations in our society. The organizations become increasingly important in Chinese contemporary social life. Their essential attributes of public welfare and public moral missions, which uphold the values of the organizations’existence and development. The social environment and the social productive forces play a key role to the non-governmental organizations, which are beneficial to those who need help. Chinese contemporary non-governmental organizations, with their moral missions and public service efforts, embody a concentrated concern on their moral nature. The organizations have clear and important ethical responsibilities. The basic ethical requirements of Chinese contemporary non-governmental organizations are love, humanity, justices, harmony, and moral spirit. In fact, more and more non-governmental organizations engage in poverty alleviation, economic development, environmental protection, and social services, and they play an increasingly important role in our society. They are different from the government organization. They have attracted more and more volunteers involved in their courses. Chinese contemporary non-governmental organizations are congenitally demanded by ethics and public welfare efforts, and they gradually become a part of our social life among the important moral organizations. However, the ideal and the reality always have gaps, and Chinese contemporary non-governmental organizations should stick to public interest. There are lots of problems in Chinese contemporary non-governmental organizations, because their present unwise organization positioning, bad organizational capacity, lacking industry self-regulation, the adverse external environment and other factors always exist. Because of bureaucracy, corruption, cheat and other unethical behaviors, these non-ethical behaviors expose their negative effects and problems, such as justice missing, personal interest inclination, and other unethical goals. To resolve these issues, the realizations representing public interest try to keep their promises to serve the public and fight for their organizational goals. They have obviously realized that their legitimacy, integrity, and initiative demands facing some ethical dilemma among the organizations and keep away from it. And this ethical dilemma requires-responsibility, initiative, justice, dignity, moral principles, and moral education in the organizations. The establishment of a self-regulatory mechanism is applied to improve the ability of meeting its obligation aim. Outside the organizations legal system is needed, and it has to strengthen government regulations, and improve the social supervision mechanisms. Chinese contemporary non-governmental organizations, at the help of joint efforts from the internal and external organizations, have become an important bridge between sponsors and the people who need help. They have become an important social welfare agent, a positive force for building a socialist harmonious society. |
