As the people have a differentunderstanding of the cultural meaning of death penalty, therefore, the methodof executing death penalty and the deterrence effect it has on the society vary.We have already brought up the guiding principle of cautious application ofdeath penalty in legislation and judicial implementation. This is a majorimprovement in concept and it possesses a profound foundation of Chineseculture and coincides with the needs in the maintaining of order in the societyin the years to come. This is the basic direction of our nation’s legal reform inthe future.
