Yunnan Ninglang Yi Costume Design In The Form Of A Composition And Its Use In Graphic Design

As a province famous for an abundant national culture, Yunnan is rich in culturalresources. Due to the differences in region and culture, various, profound and specialcultural forms have been resulted. The costume culture of Yi Minority in Yunnan isespecially bright and gorgeous, both from its patterns to colours and from its forms tostyles consist vast amount of national characteristics, which are all precious fortunehanded down from the ancestors of the Yi Minority. Based on the first-hand materialfrom fieldwork as well as the analysis of the historical culture and forms of itspattern this thesis aims at summarizing the particular visual elements enriched withcharacteristics of Yi. Moreover, combining with my specific major, I did somebeneficial exploration, mining and designing features of Yi costume culture from theangle of art design. And I expect to apply this series of design in the process ofdevelopment in Western China in aspects of improving the national aestheticawareness, accelarating the development of commodity economy which is rich innational elements and promoting the protection and development of minority culture,eventually contributing my little modest efforts to advocating national cultural spiritand the rise of civilization of the Chinese nationalities.
