The author made a brief summary about SANGZHT Folk Song in thisthesis by collecting folk songs in the region of Sangzhi in Hunan Provinceand reading books related to SANGZHI Folk Songs. Discussion ondialect，inserting words, musical forms, cadences and artisticcharacteristics of SANGZHI Folk Song arc included in this thesis.This paper analyzes and provides examples of the Sangzhi area’ sbackground and the particular characteristics of Sangzhi folk music. Italso explores the effect of Sangzhi folk music on contemporary music andthe local economy. Its general structure is composed of the severalsections according to the following framework:The first chapter introduces the background of the Sangzhi area andits types of folk music. The first section: by analysis of this backgroundwe find that there are many historical reasons responsible for theparticular style of Sangzhi folk music. For example, the music of the Baipeople who migrated to Sangzhi from Dali in Yunnan, the Tujia， Mlao and17other ethnic groups have all influenced the development of Sangzhi folkmusic. The second section: the different types of Sangzhi folk music andprovides a basic understanding of its structure.The second chapter focuses on introducing the basic artisticcharacteristics of Sangzhi folk music. The first section: Sangzhi folkmusic has a large variety, examples cited include single, double, triple and quintuple verse form and we analyze the combination of these.
