The SANGZHI Folk Song was selected into the national non-materialcultural heritage in2006for its charming fascination. Its unique stylecomes from the cultural deposits and human life in thousands of years. Notonly having appealing lyrics,it but also has fresh and distinctivemelody.. The author made a brief summary about SANGZHT Folk Song in thisthesis by collecting folk songs in the region of Sangzhi in Hunan Provinceand reading books related to SANGZHI Folk Songs. Discussion ondialect,inserting words, musical forms, cadences and artisticcharacteristics of SANGZHI Folk Song arc included in this thesis.This paper analyzes and provides examples of the Sangzhi area’ sbackground and the particular characteristics of Sangzhi folk music. Italso explores the effect of Sangzhi folk music on contemporary music andthe local economy. Its general structure is composed of the severalsections according to the following framework:The first chapter introduces the background of the Sangzhi area andits types of folk music. The first section: by analysis of this backgroundwe find that there are many historical reasons responsible for theparticular style of Sangzhi folk music. For example, the music of the Baipeople who migrated to Sangzhi from Dali in Yunnan, the Tujia, Mlao and17other ethnic groups have all influenced the development of Sangzhi folkmusic. The second section: the different types of Sangzhi folk music andprovides a basic understanding of its structure.The second chapter focuses on introducing the basic artisticcharacteristics of Sangzhi folk music. The first section: Sangzhi folkmusic has a large variety, examples cited include single, double, triple and quintuple verse form and we analyze the combination of these. Thesecond section: when performed, the Songzhi dialect injects these folksongs with new blood, the words providing unique interpretive color andshowing the charm in Sangzhi folk songs. The third section discusses the“unique R,,enqiang style of singing and various rhythmic types. Therei"s a special type of local song called “Chuan song, as well as anotherrhythmic type called "chopped sentence,,by locals. The large varietyof musical ideas used in these songs creates a rich and colorful localmusical tradition.The third chapter is about the influence of Sangzhi folk music. Thefirst section: For Hunanese composers, the Sangzhi area is a ocean of Hunanfolk music creativity. Its musical elements exert a pronounced influenceon their contemporary compositions and give them added color. The secondsection: Sangzhi folk music has also functioned as a stimulus for the localeconomy. Zhang Jia Jie tourism managers have included Sangzhi folk musicto develop a number of folk music tour itineraries. Sangzhi folk musichas put the economy in motion, and the economy has put the lives of theSangzhi people in motion.
