Gabriel Faure (1845-1924) is an important French composer between19”to20”.Faure instrumental works for string quartets, concertos and pianoworks. Including two sets of piano works--Barcarolle, Nocturne, eachset with13works. He also composed other kinds of music forms as well.Suchas prelude, the improvisation Waltz and Variations. The piano works ofFaure with elegant taste. His playing fully expressed French classicaland romantic tradition. The second impromptu is his earlly piano workwhich used the basic techniques as well as characteristics..Faure ‘s life and French cultural as the background in this paper,in which analysis as well as research the music features of the secondimpromptu. Explore Faure’s style from his impromptu work. Meanwhilethe playing skills,pedal and the tone are discussed.
