"The phonology of Tongxi area in Liaoning" records the situation of dialects in Tongxi area of Liaoning systematically, as well as the condition of Liaoning province. Concerning the language contact between Chinese and Manchu language, it tries to discuss the problem both synchronically and diachronically. The paper is divided into6parts, the outline is as follows:The first chapter is the introduction. Firstly, the research object of this paper is confirmed, which is the Tongxi area of Liaoning, followed the introduction to the historical overview of this area, focusing on the research results of this subject for the past10decades, and after a thorough arrangement and conduction, this paper absorbs the reasonable methods and conclusions, to better discuss the speech system in the Tongxi area of Liaoning.The second chapter is the sound system of the Tongxi area of Liaoning. Firstly, aiming to discuss the common characteristics, it describes the sound syetem in details from the aspects of consonants, wowels and tones; Secondly, in a bid to seize the special features, this paper makes a comparison among the most representative dialectic spots in this area, and figures out the main differences between them; Last, it compares the old and the new school on this study, pointing out the possible development tendency of phonology in this area.The third chapter is the synchronic study of phonology in the Tongxi area of Liaoning. Firstly, it makes a comprehensive comparison between Mandarin and the dialect in this area and states the differences in details, making a guidance to people in this area in studing Mandarin correctly. Secondly, another comparison is made between dialect in this area and in other spots in Liaoning province, in order to find some influences that made by language contact to the evolution of its dialect.The forth chapter is the diachronic study of the Tongxi dialect in Liaoning. First, based on the diachronic method, a comparison among "QieYun"" ZhongYuanYinYun" and "WuFangYuanYin " is made to reveal the development and evolution of the Tongxi dialect in Liaoning. Then some hot issues about the historical evolution of this dialect are analyzed, the book "HuangZhongTongYun", which determined the standard sound of Manchu language in Qing dynasty, is used, as well as the representitive book of speech sound-"YuZhi QingWenJian" and the representitive book of oral speech-"QingWen QiMeng" are analyzed to reveal the phonetic effects that Manchu language had to Chinese, which lays a foundation to the study afterwards.The fifth chapter is the special study of phonology. Firstly, some old words are chosen and described to record the sound at that time, providing aboundant materials for following researchers; then it talks about the influence that Manchu language had to dialect in Tongxi area, and at last, som pronunciation phenomenon are discussed in details, including the light tone., the retroflex suffixation and the tonal modification.The sixth chapter is the conclusion. It makes a comprehensive summary to the whole content and points out the deficiencies of the study and also the future trends of the research in this field.
