Through doing statistical analysis, description of Polysyllabic words in the "Dunhuang Yuanwen", under the guidance of modern linguistic theory, combined with the theory of the ancient Chinese exegesis, philology, and the use of induction, classification and other methods, the paper attempts to do exhaustive research about the Polysyllabic words in "Dunhuang Yuanwen". Polysyllabic words of Dun Huang Yuan Wen, Min Chun-fang in their doctoral thesis," For Polysyllabic words of Dun Huang Yuan Wen, Min Chun-fang had mentioned in the doctoral thesis "Dun Huang Yuan Wen vocabulary", and in the chapter of "Dunhuang Yuanwen Vocabularies two-tone ", she Have been cited three categories:"everse disyllabic words with grain","Nouns and compose dual words" and "Thumbnail dual words", not willing to cultural polysyllabic words as a whole structure with the meaning of macro description and analysis. This is the first time to classify measurement studies about the polysyllabic words in "Dunhuang Yuanwen". On this basis, I will do a comprehensive description of Polysyllabic words. In which, The grammar-based quantity occupies the absolute superiority accounts for96.03%., The number of the Grammar-based using words which use the word order form is4515, accounting for about94.91%of the total number of polysyllabic words, There are189phonetic form words, which occupy3.97%of the total number of the polysyllabic words. At Last, compare with Dunhuang Bianwen, Yuan Wen polysyllabic words also shows the unbalanced nature of the formation method; There are many words synonymous groups in Yuan Wen parallel polysyllabic words and partial official polysyllabic words; YuanWen partial officially polysyllabic words are in a large number of figures Abbreviations and metaphorical form of Morphology, which is related with the stylistic features of the Yuanwen text.
