In the1960s, the theoretical concept of intertextuality was been proposed by French semiotician and literary critic Julia Kristeva."Semeiotike", a book published in1969, she proposed the concept of intertextuality. She also published "Towards a Semiology of Paragrams" in1986and made it clear that:"Any text is constructed as a mosaic of quotations; any text is the absorption and transformation of another"(Kristeva,1986,37).Currently, the theory of literary criticism, intertextuality has become a major object of study in many areas such as culture, education. Especially in recent years, the concept of intertextuality has been actively applied to chapter field of research in Chinese linguistic educational circles. This paper will consider the text of preface as the paratext related to main body of the book and study the intertextual relations between the preface and the main body in the book.The concept of intertextuality has born in the field of Western literary criticism. By defining and combing thoughts of many well-known linguistics, the implications and scope of intertextuality have become vague and broad. To examine the general rule and the operating mechanism generated by the phenomenon of intertextuality from the angle of linguistics vision, this thesis concerns the range and implications focused on the intertextuality relationship by linguistic form. Based on previous assumption, this thesis studies intertextual relations between the preface and the main body in the book from the inner form and the external form level.This thesis is organized with six chapters, about Forty thousand words in total length. The first chapter is dedicated to introduction section. The second chapter regards application of intertextuality in the text research. The third chapter is the discussion section, the external form and the other function to the paratext preface. The forth chapter of this thesis explores the question about "外接式'文(the external connection patterns of the intertextual relations)", use reference as a linguistic method in the inherent form of written book’s preface. The fifth chapter focuses on detail discussion of "内入式'文(the entering inside patterns to intertextual relations)", use citation as source of in the part of preface inherent form. This paper collected over one hundred corpus sources range from p-book and e-book. The main object of analysis is come from Chapter three to five. The sixth chapter is dedicated to conclusion section.
