Nowadays, competition and cooperation are two of the most essential qualities for the collage students to adapt to the society. However, due to the impacts of living environment and social environment, there are two misunderstandings on the attitude of competition and cooperation:first, competition can only demonstrate the ability of individuals, so there will be a desperate vicious competition; second, people will take less responsibility in the cooperation, or even reap without sowing, so there will be some cooperation without principle. Competition and cooperation is not antagonistic or countervailing, they are interdependent, and only when the collage students deal with their relationship well, they will serve the community better and develop themselves. Therefore, it is very important to study the competition and co-operative attitude of the college students. Achievement motivation, as a predictor of a likelihood of success, has a close relationship with competition and cooperation. People with high achievement motivation would like to accept the challenging and competitive task, while high achievement motivation will bring high tendency of cooperation. People who made great achievements are those who love competition and are very good cooperation.This research used the following methods to study the collage students’attitude of competition, cooperation and the relationship with achievement motivation. First, the survey investigated the attitude of explicit competition and cooperation, studied the correlation between them, and then studied their relationship with achievement motivation. Second, the study investigated the attitude of implicit competition and cooperation, studied the correlation between them, and then studied their relationship with achievement motivation.After described the status of the domestic and international research, and described the definitions competition and cooperation and their relationships with achievement motivation, used the Competition Psychological Scale of College Students, the Students’ ability to cooperate Scale and the Achievement Motivation Scale measure135college students’explicit competitive, cooperative attitude, and achievement motivation, while used the GNAT experiment measure the implicit competition and cooperative attitude of51students, then got the following conclusions:(1) Between competition and cooperation, the college students’explicit attitude tends to cooperation. Boy’ scores are higher than girls’on competition total scores and other dimensions, Boy’ scores are higher than girls’on cooperation intention.(2) There is not obvious implicit preference between competition and cooperation during the college students. Boy’ scores are higher than girls’on implicit competition; there is no gender difference in the implicit co-operative attitude.(3) On explicit competition, cooperation and other dimensions, except for competition strategy, cooperation intention has high correlation with them, that means explicit competition and cooperation intention has a close relationship.(4) The explicit competitive attitude and implicit competitive attitude of college students is separated.(5) The explicit cooperative attitude and implicit attitude of cooperation of college students are highly consistency; it verified the identity theory of implicit explicit attitude.(6) Explicit competition and explicit cooperation can predict the pursuit of success together.Implicit-explicit attitude relationship is not a definitive result, there will be a lot of adjustment variables, including social desirability, implicit level, the consistency of concept and so on. In areas of high social sensitivity, the correlation is lower relatively, and in the neutral field, the correlation is higher relatively. The study verified the separation theory of implicit-explicit attitude on the competitive attitude, and verified the identity theory of implicit-explicit attitude on the attitude of cooperation.Another valuable result of the study is verified the correlation of the explicit competition and explicit cooperation by means to quantify. Study showed that people with cooperation intention will have strong competition motivation and competition tendency; but if the competition result is a long-awaited things, the intention to cooperate will be low.Pursuit of success has a great relationship with explicit competition and explicit cooperation, the stronger desire of competition and cooperation is the more intense of achieving success.The above conclusions provide us with theoretical basis for judging the achievement motivation through competition and cooperation attitude and cultivating the consciousness of competition and cooperative of college students.
