| Proceeding from the reality of the art appreciation, Chunshi Yang’s transcendency aesthetictheory was inspected in this paper. Comparing the examples of art appreciation with Yang’sinternal theory kernels, it is believed that Yang’s transcendency aesthetic theory has greatsignificance. First, in terms of art, material choosing, content authoring and knowledge acceptingall heavily rely on human vita. Yang’s Aesthetics, therefore, chooses subsistence as a logicstarting point and the category of Ontology on studying the aesthetic problems, which is definitelyreasonable. Second, the premise of aesthetic activity is understanding which can be only obtainedby the independence of Utilitarian Awareness and human will, so that the nature of the work canbe fully shown. And it is just the intersubjectivity emphasized in Yang’s transcendency aesthetictheory. Finally, the transcendency of the work is the source of art aesthetic attainment. Yang’sAesthetics’ defining transcendency as the essence of aesthetic activity is significant to how toexplain the activity of art appreciation.However, Yang’s aesthetics has simultaneously limitations. To begin with, it is lacking inaxiology foundation, since transcending was directly considered as the essence of aestheticactivity.It may be more appropriate to describe that aesthetic perception derived from theconviction that the subject has gone beyond his limitations in the actual word which still exists inthe previous period. And also, it does not only exist in the transcendental field, but also the reality.Second, it is oversimplified if intersubjectivity was considered as the entire procedure of aestheticactivity. It should include:(1)shield ourselves from the actual existence, towards intersubjectiveand experiencing the object;(2) drawing the conclusion from the introspection and judgment ofexperience;(3) confirm the fact that the subject has "surpassed". Third, Yang’s Aesthetics has alack of analysis on items guiding the ultimate value. After analysis, in this article, it’s believedthat ultimate value is not able to exceed the scope of recent cultural heritage, although it breaksfrom reality, which is so called ultimate value orientated by culture.Yang’s Aesthetics was viewed from the prospective of art appreciation and was evaluatedimpartially in the paper, which would be significant on providing a new theory for the study of artaesthetics, the creation of art and art criticism in future. |
