Qinhuai lantern is a traditional handicraft of the ancient city ofNanjing，which is well-known in china．The folk artists who can roll lanternsalways live in the Qinhuai River．So the traditional handicraft has a strongregional characteristics． The government pay more attention to thetraditional handicraft after the Qinhuai lantern were selected as theprovincial intangible cultural heritage in2007．The author research theteaching method around Qinhuai lantern family in this background．So theauthor selects hereditary family of Qinhuai lantern which are special groupsin the process of inheritance as the object of study, and also selects threetypically hereditary families of Qinhuai lantern, such as Ke’s Lantern，Cao’s Lantern and Lu’s Lantern．The author use the two methods namedparticipant observation and in-depth interview to research the three majorInheritors (especially the third generation inheritor) in the hereditary familyof Qinhuai lantern．The author wants to summarize what they get from theirgrandparents and parents about their handicraft, and how to continue，andtries to restore the pedigree of hereditary families of Qinhuai lantern．Theauthor also tries to analysis the unique way of imparting in the process fromthe transmission details，and to ennable us to understand clearly the lanternfamily inheritance characteristics．At last we also can indirectly reflect theheritage of Qinhuai lantern．...
