42high school students, as research subjects, who were filtered as high self-centeredness by China Adolescent Egocentism Scale, developed by Liu Jianrong, who refer to Elkind and Bowen’s Imaginary Audience Scale (Imaginary Audience Scale, IAS) and Enrigh’s Adolescent Egocentism Scale, were divided into two groups according to questionnaire scores as high and low. First subjects were asked to set the self-focused task and assess the current level of emotion, then they were tested with film clip inducing happiness emotion, after that they were asked to assess the later emotion level again with Plutchik’s Mood Questionnaire.Physiological data were collected by the Face Reader3.0software from Noldus of Netherlands. Recorded during the experiment was facial expression, especially the happy state changes.2(type of subjects:high self-centered tendency, low self-centered tendency) x2(attention task:concerned about themselves, concerned about others) between-subject experimental design was used to study the influence of different tasks towards different type of subjects on positive emotion.The conclusions are as follow:(1) Experimental materials induced changes in positive emotion better. Tested after watching the movie clip, pleasant emotional dimension of the questionnaire was significantly increased; in response to facial expression, the smile increased, data shows the mood of happy series value increases.(2) Two indicators of the dependent variable (reported positive emotions, facial expression analysis) results show that high self-centered tendency subjects’positive emotional response were higher than the low self-centered tendency subjects’(3) High self-centered subjects, who were asked to focus on others, are more likely to have a positive emotional response than low self-centered subjects, who were asked to focus on themselves.
