Congyang Dialect Research

Zongyang County is belonged to Anqing City in Anhui Province,it islocated in the southwest of Anhui Province and lies on the north coastof Changjiang River.There have different opinions on Zongyang dialect attribution.《Chinese Language Atlas》think that Zongyang dialect is belonging tothe Jianghuai Mandarin in Hongchao piece,but the others think that it isbelonging to the jianghuai Mandarin in Huangxiao piece.The author ofthis thesis agree the last opinion.The thesis is a system description for Zongyang dialectpronunciation,vocabulary and grammar these three aspects. The thesisnot only give a synchronic description,but aslo give a diachroniccomparison for Zongyang dialect,in order to have a morecomprehensive understanding of Zongyang dialect characteristics.Thethesis consists of four chapters adding up to a foreword and aconclusion.The foreword mainly introduces the research presentcondition of the Zongyang dialect in brief and the theories value of theresearch.In chapter1mainly introduces the geography position,theorigin and development of Zongyang and the basic condition ofZongyang dialect.Chapter2is about Zongyang phonetic,it mainlyconsists of two aspects.First,form the description of the synchroniclevel,chapter2analyze and describe the consonants,vowels and tonesystems of Zongyang dialect,as well as co-ordination between theconsonants,vowels and tone of mutual relations and phoneticchanges.On the other hand,form the description of the diachroniclevel,chapter2compares Zongyang phonetics system with that ofGuangyun-chinese mid-ancient pronunciation,in order to reveal theZongyang dialect phonological features.Chapter3is about Zongyangvocabulary. According to the classification list the basic vocabulary of the Zongyang dialect.Chapter4is about Zongyang grammar.Chapter4describe some sepcial grammatical phenomena form the lexical andsyntactic.Lexical part is mainly related to the pronouns,adjectives andsome particle.The syntactic part related to the “ba”sentence,thepassive sentence,negative and question sentence.The last section is asummary of the full test,and point out the lack of this articles.Dialect is a self-sustaining opening system,Zongyang dialect is alsosame.Although this article does not exhaust all the characteristics of theZongyang dialect,generally, this article sketch the pictures ofdialect,and this have some references on dialectology’s study andlocal constructions of culture.
