Chinese local novel is an important Chinese ContemporaryLiterature and literary genre. It has been based on the local ruralfarmers, depicting local customs and humanity since its inception. After90years of development, it becomes mature and results in manyschools as well as many outstanding works. When entering the newcentury, the local rural area faced with more complex socialenvironment, which brought more new features to the local fictionwriting.This paper is based on this environment to discuss the status ofthe Local Novels and writing features. Of this paper, it can be dividedinto three parts: first from the perspective of literary history, listing localfiction since the development of the backdrop of the evolution from itsbirth. Second, present situation under the wave of modernization. Thispaper discussed from the following four respective. This part of he main examples of representativeworks Pingwa, Mo Yan, Yan Lianke three local fiction writers since thenew century, to discuss the creation of the new features of the newcentury realism. In this part it give examples of the representative worksJia Pingwa, Mo Yan and Yan Lianke to discuss the new features ofRealisms.
