This paper is broadly divided into the following sections:The introduction expounds the purpose, significance and the research focus of this paper, makes a brief analysis on the current situation of the involved object of study, points out current inadequacies of the study on Fa Yan and the significance of this article.The first part focuses on investigatet the author, the content and origin of Fa Yan. The author combs the life of Yang Xiong through literature data, research on the controversial issues of Yang Xiong’s life. And analyzes the main topics in the book, sums up the characteristics.The note and version on Fa Yan are also briefly discussed.The second part, mainly discusses the historic view of Fa Yan, will divide into three major categories to carry on the research.
