"Gui Dong" is one of mythical stories that reflect the life of citizens in the SongDynasty, vividly reveals the reality every aspect of life in the Song Dynasty, especiallythe holiday customs of people in daily life, weddings、funeral and marry tradition,tradecirculation and feudal superstition etc was widely involved.Different from the pastmythical stories, The stories in "Gui Dong" are mostly derived from the daily life ofcommon people,sending out strong local conditions and customs,giving people astrong sense of kindness and realism. The novel contact the background of social life inthe Song Dynasty, in order to reveal the unique nature of the literature.This paper have four chapters, The first chapter described Gui Dong’s world thatunder the influence of religion. The second chapter mainly display the stories anddeepen our understanding of Gui Dong’s stories, Show out of its unique themes,inorder to understand the people’s psychology、life habit、purpose is a reflection of thehistory and become to history evidence of Song Dynasty. Finally, Gui Dong’s individualcases reflect the relation between "Gui Dong" and the other literary works in SongDynasty.
