Chinese Refused To Verbal Behavior Research

Refusal speech act objectively exists in our life, in the face of others’ request,invitation, recommendation, when we do not want to accept, we will be refused. In fact,polite, reasonable, standard to refuse others will help maintain the harmoniousrelationship between us. Therefore, we defined refusal speech act, and from the threeaspects of its classification, divided into: direct and indirect refusal, strong and weakFace-threatening Act, real refusal and false refusal.We use a corpus analysis method, through the analysis of the collected data, therefusal speech act in accordance with the context, divided into nine categories, the ninegroup of the typical speech act of refusal situation analysis. On call rejection is often toexpress other conversational implicature; to praise, praise the refuse is often falsereject; to thank refused and to apologize is relatively rare, refused to show, refused todo not forgive apology man conversational implicature; on giving, rejection andprovider efforts related to ask questions; reject way choice and the maintenance of theinterest relative to those who refused the request; rationality is the main consideration;social power and social relations, in command, refused suggestion is rejected mainlyconcerns; on invitation refusal, refusal mainly considering the invitation and invitationface related.Finally, we from the influence factors of refusal speech act, investigate theimpact of five factors, and from the angle of Chinese culture on Chinese refusal speechact, for our more rational implementation of the refusal speech act to providetheoretical support.
