Li Bai, an outstanding poet in Tang Dynasty, is one of the mostrepresentative figures. Research on Li Bai’s poetry, therefore, is the mostpopular study target. Li Bai declared himself to be saint of the wine.Known as saint from the heaven by He Zhizhang, another famous poetin his times, Li Bai could be regarded as God of the Poetry in Chineseliterature history. His liberal thoughts, easygoing attitude and refinedcharm can be best illustrated in his poems. Attentively reading hispoems, we can find out his eager attitude to ordinary life. Theseprogressive and refined traits are appeared while the masterpiecescreating. Why could worldly thoughts affect such a poet and make himdevote himself to it? What made Li Bai keep his saint mind of integrityunder the motivation of deeply rooted fame? And how does theconflict of career and resign confuse Li Bai?Three parts will be put forward on the discussion. The first partfocuses on the particularity and reasons of Li Bai’s desire for the worldlythought, comparing with poems of his times. The second part analyzesthe tragedy of his vision from several ways of his thoughts. The third part,however, mainly analyzes the resign thought in his poems. Through theanalysis of large quantities of poems, this article concludes that Li Bai’sseemingly worldly thought is, somehow, a self relief. Under theinvestigation and analysis, we can grasp the true essence of Li Bai’sthought more accurately.
