The paper mainlydiscusses the sound in silent film and the sound concepts during sound filmtrial-produce period. It is pointed out that the sound creation concepts of film was notgrown out of nothing, but was existed there since the birth of the film. And in thesilent film period, with the help of visual sense, it forms a set of unique representationand means of sound. In1927, after the appearing of film sound, although there is aseries of dispute and chaos in the art concepts, people gradually realized the structureof the film sound itself after constantly practice and exploration. Film sound creationconcepts bud did appear.The second stage is the representation stage of film sound which is pursuing of"revert realities". The paper mainly analyzes the artistic characteristics of the filmsound of classic Hollywood period, from1950s to1960s until end of1970s moviesound art characteristics. In the second stage, the film sound creation concept istotally pursuing of reverting of realities, trying to finish the transformation from"dramatize" to "cinematic". In the end of1970s, with the progress and development oftechnology, the film sound has completely had the ability to express life. Visual(picture) and hearing (sound) achieve balance. Three elements (language, music andacoustics) of film sound achieve a relative balance too.The third stage is the representation stage of film sound which is pursuing of"beyond realities". The paper mainly summarizes today’s leap development andchange trend of creating concept of film sound since the end of the1970s. At the endof the1970s, the appearance of sound design makes people to know that the filmsound should be the reconstructing of all kinds of sound elements. In the next tenyears, sound designer had deeply dug to the expressive force of sound. After the 1990s, along with the widely using of digital technology in the sound field, thecreation of film sound also began the development trend of diversifying, and strive tocreate a "Being there" hearing experience to the audience.
