In this paper, Dai language of Hunong village(including Manpong and Nalai hamlet) in Puchuan township Tengchong County Yunnan province are analyzed and studied, based mainly on self-reflected materials, and complemented with fieldwork data and documents, and using previous research results of Han and Zhuang as reference. The phonology of Dai language of Hunong village is systematically sorted out, and its adjectives are defined and sub-divided for the first time. The structure, syntactic function, combination function and overlapping form and other parts of speech as well as the attached syllable are analvzed and discussed.Based on the previous Han-Zhuang research works, the adjectives of Dai languages in Hunong village are defined and sub-divided, meanwhile their structure, syntactic function, combination function, overlapping form and attached syllable with other parts of speech are analyzed, in order to provide a case study for Dai adjectives. This paper includes six chapters:Chapter One:Introduction. Previous research results on adjectives of Dai and its cognate languages are described at first, followed by the introduction of purpose, significance, value and innovation of the topic, and the source of the corpus.Chapter Two:An Overview on Techong Dai. At first, language background of Hunong Dai language are introduced, then its phonology are systematically sorted out, finally, the word formation features and the basic sentences of Tengchong Dai language are briefly introduced. Chapter Three:Definition and Sub-division of Adjectives in Techong Dai Language. Firstly, the research place and definition of adjectives are stated. Secondly, the adjective of Techong Dai language are defined. Finally, the adjective of Techong Dai language are sub-divided.Chapter Four:Syntactic Function of Adjectives in Techong Dai Language. The syllable structure of adjectives are analyzed and explained at first. Then the syntactic functions of adjectives are discussed. Finally, combination of adjectives with other parts of speech are analyzed and illustrated.Chapter Five:Overlapping Form and Attached Syllable of Adjectives in Techong Dai Language. The overlapping forms and attached syllables of adjectives are classified and analyzed respectively in this chapter.Chapter Six:Conclusion. The paper is summarized, and its inadequacies and further research prospects are presented. |
