The18th century, Yangzhou painting appeared in a number of active artists groups, they were known as the "Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou". While inheriting the tradition, this painting and calligraphy groups opposed to learn it is not of quite unique insights and achievements in the arts. Their work in the subject matter, techniques, or in drawing the layout and form of expression has a distinctive artistic characteristics, such artistic features just the right emotional and rational, social and personal unified. Their work and social life mostly closely associated with:simple, simple beauty with the help of nature to awaken the people of the community efforts to pursuit of the true meaning of life, performance artist’s own dissatisfaction with earthly things Yiyu inconstancy of human relationships. Therefore, their work can feel a strong social nature of the times. In the process of artistic creation, unique artistic features of these artists show, arts advocate, artistic accomplishments as well as the artist’s own sense of history, worthy of reference and learning of contemporary college students. Author from the "Eight Eccentrics" the background and the artistic characteristics of the causes of the two to start the discussion and then to explore and analyze the "Eight Eccentrics" in the artistic characteristics of the four areas of work themes, aesthetic fashion, the screen layout and form of expression, analysis oftheir artistic achievements, and to tap the "Eccentrics" the practical significance of these artistic features as well as reference for contemporary Chinese paintings.
