Concerning The Protection Of The Regional Culture Under The Background Of Globalization And Reshaping

Globalization is an objective, irresistible trend, which is accompanied by the development of IT and network technology development. The globalization in economic and cultural fields means that a variety of economy and culture equally exchanged and integrated more and more. It also means that there is more and more economic and cultural diversification. Inadvertently, in the context of globalization, there will be contradictions and conflicts between the foreign cultures and local cultures. On one hand, the strong point and weakness in culture will lead to cultural exchanges between active and passive relations, which results in an inequality of cultural exchange. On the other hand, in order to exclude foreign cultures in locals, this progress can also cause contradictions and conflicts between local culture and foreign culture. Therefore, in the context of globalization, it is necessary to absorb the essence of multi-culturalism, and also to carry forward the valuable traditions in the local culture.Taking a case of modern hotels with regional cultural theme, this paper discusses the importance of protecting and remodeling the regional culture. In this article, firstly, it explains the concept of regional culture in-depth. Moreover, in order to find a way to develop Chinese regional culture-themed hotels, through collecting a large number of data, this article also comprehensively explores the definition of themed hotels as well as it development of it both in domestic and abroad.In the third chapter of this article, it studies the design of the regional culture-themed hotel, in a more detailed way. There four principles:the first one is using historic buildings to reshape the local culture; secondly, the necessity to value the location of the natural environment and historical context.; thirdly, pay attention to follow the requirements of urban planning for the new building; and the last one is to respect the city’s unique texture. Afterwards, this article systematically sums up the designing and creating process for the regional culture-themed hotel. Finally, it proposed how to use typology, representation and refined design techniques to interpret the regional culture-themed hotel.At last, in this article, it takes Guangzhou New Chang Long International Resort as a specific case for in-depth analysis. It further explores the regional culture-themed hotel and analyzes the complete process of locating culture to interpretation theme.
