This paper discussed the social representation of ideal life of Chinese on the basis of socialrepresentation theory and examined people’s feeling of living state and make attribution study ofthis feeling.Study1: the tentative study of the social representation of ideal life of Chinese was carriedout using the method of content analysis and qualitative analysis. The conclusions show that:(1)the social representation of ideal life of Chinese is activated in11dimensions: physical security,job and career, safety and health, social context, family love, friendship, love, amusement,feeling, spirit and pursuit, environment.(2)the structure of the social representations of ideallife of Chinese is multidimensional and multilevel, and it corresponds with Maslow’s hierarchyof needs.(3)Chinese pay most attention to family love and focus on the individual besides,feelings,physical security is indispensable.(4)for the building of ideal life,the males tend to berational and consider more, while females tend to be emotional and focus on the present andexperience; the unmarried pay more attention to the individual feelings and have more spiritualdemand, while the married concern themselves with the outside and have more demands formaterial things.Study2: using the method of questionnaire and interview and analyzing the collected textsby qualitative analysis and content analysis, the feelings of Chinese present state of life isresearched, and make an attribution research. The conclusions show that:(1)pressure andtiredness is obvious in Chinese present state of life.(2)the representation of attribution ofChinese modern life manifested in these facts: individual factors, economic factors, learning andwork factors, social factors, family factors, interpersonal factors and uncertainties.(3)Chinesefocus on individual initiative in attribution of the living state.(4) in the present state of life, menare more easily influenced by the social factors, and more women attribute it to the family anduncertain factors; after marriage, the economic factors instead of non-economic factors becomethe main factors of the state of life.
