The core of Nida’s translation theory is "Functional Equivalence", which means the translation should try to convey the thought expressed in a source text instead of rendering the text word-for-word. And one important characteristics of his translation theory is the target language readers’response. Taking the translation of Million Dollar Habits—a book on psychology of success by Brian Tracy—as an example, this thesis is trying to combine functional equivalence theory with the translation of books on psychology of success from three perspectives:word, syntax and text, in order to prove the functional equivalence is of great value of guiding the translation of books on psychology of success. |
