After Chongqing Negotiations, the Kuomintang (KMT) and the Chinese Communist Party(CCP) engaged in a fierce struggle on the opening date, the content of the resolution and theimplementation measures of the Political Consultative Conference in1946, until the outbreak ofthe civil war between the two sides. As the only newspaper published in the white-areas by theChinese Communist Party,“Xinhua Daily” witnessed and participated in the struggle duringthis period. Because “Xinhua Daily” is in a special environment, it must focus on the use of thepropaganda tactics. So, it’s very useful to research propaganda tactics of “Xinhua Daily” duringthis period for understanding the propaganda tactics of the Chinese Communist Party deeply.The research of this article mainly bases on the reports of “Xinhua Daily” during this period of“Before and after the Political Consultative Conference in1946”. It also combines historicalbackground of this period and some other related historical material.“Xinhua Daily” took a variety of ways on the propaganda tactics during this period. Thisarticle attempts to research and summary the propaganda tactics of “Xinhua Daily”. Firstly, itdescribes the concept of “Before and after the Political Consultative Conference in1946”and“propaganda tactics”. After that, in order to explain the publicity background of “Xinhua Daily”during this period, it introduces the domestic and international situation of this period, which isthe “Before and after the Political Consultative Conference in1946”. Secondly, it makes asummary of the propaganda tactics of “Xinhua Daily” during this period. The advocacystrategies are “the combination of positive reporting and negative reporting”,“the combinationof direct advertising and indirect advertising” and “the focus on the promotional planning andcrisis management of major events”. Thirdly, it summarizes the impact of the propagandatactics of “Xinhua Daily” during this period. During this period of “Before and after thePolitical Consultative Conference in1946”, the publicity of “Xinhua Daily” cooperated theChinese Communist Party’s struggle against the Kuomintang, enhanced the understanding ofthe people of the Kuomintang-controlled areas on the Chinese Communist Party, and played acertain role in promoting the Chinese Communist Party to fight for the hearts and minds of theKuomintang-controlled areas. Finally, it points out that these propaganda tactics is useful toimprove the current publicity strategies and styles of the news media.
