Intellectuals in Chinese society is a particular social group in Chinese society, Yan’an intellectuals is a special class of intellectuals groups generated in the specific context of the times.Ding Ling is a leading writer of modern Chinese literary history. Her10years in Yan’an is a typical presence in the literary history. On one hand, she had firm revolutionary beliefs and consciously integrated into the revolution, celebrating the revolution, to participate in the revolutionary practice, consciously to build the ideal of the revolutionary regime; on the other hand, she was so affected by the May Fourth New Culture that she strongly pursuit the independent of personality and freedom of thought.she had a deep sense of enlightenment and criticism. When she found fissure between the ideal and the reality, she criticized the drawbacks of the reality bravely. In Yan’an decade, it always had contradiction the ideal and the reality in Ding Ling’s heart. It could be seemed as a up and down curve between revolutionary discourse and the enlightment discourse. She always changed her own creations with the social reality she had felt. When she first arrived in Yan’an, according to the revolution imagine in her heart, she began to write articles for the revolution, even using report style which she was not good at. When the light of perceptual gradually retreat, she began to cool thinking the liberated areas of all kinds of cultural drawbacks. She used the sharp essays to expose and criticize the liberated areas with a sense of responsibility which a revolutionary should have and a criticism consciousness which an intellectual should had. This period her novels always appear irreconcilable conflict between the revolution ideal and the cruel reality. She also was caught in a self deeply worried and confused situation. She created a bright ending for her novel, but the actual creation tended to appear on the self narration on the contents.Talk" and the rectification changed this situation.
