The Manchu Shamanism Remaining Modern Analysis

Shamanism was a kind of primitive religious as a common faith in the northern nationalities in ancient China. The ancient northern nationalities, such as Sushen Mohe, Nuzhen, Xiongnu, Qidan,etc.; Moderm northern nationalities, such as Manchu, Mongolia, Hezhen, Owenk, Kazak also believe in or keep some of shamanism culture.Shamanism produced in the late primitive society. The word "shaman" first appeared in the song dynasty. In the eyes of the Manchu ancestors, the shaman’s position is very high, not only can heal, but also for offspring ability. It is a communicational intermediaries between god and man, also is the representative of the theocracy. When we research in the China’s northern minorities and its history of the development, it must be related to the topic of shamanism. In the north of the ethnic minorities, Manchu worked as a ruler for more than260years, and it was bom and grew up in the core region of shamanism. So it is the most representative for the Manchu for the protection and development of shamanism. The study of the Manchu shamanism, is not only for consolidation relationship of the Manchu history and shamanism, but also for study of the whole history of the Manchu shamanism. It has a great significance to the remains and protection of shamanism.The Manchu has a long history. It can be dated back to2000years ago. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, Manchu become an official member of it. With the transfer of history, the changes of these dynasties, shamanism is also associated with its’grow up and changes.This paper will be divided into four sections of the Manchu shamanism primitive belief, development context, contemporary ethnic programs, influence of the contemporary customs.It will show remains status of Manchu shamanism through the original faith and the contemporary customs.The first part is the introduction, mainly introduces the domestic and foreign research status of shamanism and Manchu shamanism, the purpose of this paper, the research significance, the research method, etc. The second part will introduce the original shamanism faith, including natural worship, totem worship and ancestor worship, etc.The third part will briefly summarize the development of the Manchu shamanism context.The fourth part is the key part of this paper, mainly introduce the typical contemporary social practice activity of Manchu shamanism-Samskara. It will discuss the Manchu shamanism situation from the programs,instruments of the Samskara and the influence of the Manchu shamanism to contemporary customs.
