Romantic category is an important component in Sino-western aesthetic category. Owing tothe discrepancies existing in the Sino-western culture backgrounds, aesthetic category showsunique features in Chinese and western field. Romantic category in west has a clean-cut system,and with the confrontation of romantic thought and classic thought rising out of the RomanticismLiterature Campaign in the 19th century, the romantic method has been introduced into theliterature and esthetics discussions. The Chinese aesthetic category presents a feature of multiplemeaning and obsceneness, and spotted in other aesthetic categories, for example the naturecategory, the Feng category, and the He category. The Sino-western romantic category plays aprodigious illuminating role in comparative study of poems in the late Ming Dynasty and the19th century British romanticism poetry.Classical Chinese poetry and Western poetry comparison between comparative literatureparallel studies in the category of. In recent years, comparative study of Chinese and Westernpoetry has made great progress, but about the late Ming Dynasty and early nineteenth CenturyBritish Romantic poetry in the period of the comparative study of less. In this paper based on thestudy of Chinese and Western Romance category, based on the Chinese and Western Romanticpoetry research, to the late Ming Dynasty and the beginning of the nineteenth Century BritishRomantic poetry in the period undertakes comparative study.Besides the introduction and summary, this paper includes the following three chapters.The introduction part mainly introduces the aesthetic category theory, the Sino-westernromantic category theory, characteristics of Sino-western poetry research, and the present studyof Sino-western romanticism poetry research.Chapter one briefly analyses the Sino-western romantic category, and summarizes theromanticism poetry. Firstly, it analyses the romanticism theory in ancient Chinese estheticsthoughts, characteristics of romanticism poetry in the late Ming Dynasty, romantic category inwestern aesthetic category history and characteristics of 19th century British romanticism poetry,then the paper overviews the blend and dissimilarities between Sino-western romantic thoughts, and illuminates the concrete reasons from social, political, economic and cultural aspects.Chapter two is the main comparative study of Sino-Britain romanticism poetry. This chapteremphasizes in explaining the similarities and differences in poems of the late Ming Dynastyand of 19th century British romanticism from the following three aspects: the wildness beauty oftalented poets in Suzhou and surrounded areas compared with the genius theory in west, thepresentation of soul and emotions held by the Gong’an School compared with the westernemotion category, and the Sino-western poets’ concept of freedom which is struggling betweensentiment and reason.Chapter three explores the Sino-western romanticism poets’ esthetics sublimation in theromantic category from the poetry life and the romantic passion embodied in the famoussentence Time past like the water from the life inspiration in the romanticism poets of the lateMing Dynasty and early 19th century in Britain.The summary part reviewed the whole research and concludes the characteristics by thecomparative study of the poetry in the late Ming Dynasty and early 19th century in Britain, andfurther points out the shortcomings in the research.
