This paper is a translation comment of the novel Naima, in which the Skopostheorie is selected as the theoretical framework. For Skopostheorie, translation is a purposeful intercultural action whose main purpose determines the whole translation process and the choice of translation strategies and methods so that a functionally adequate target text can be produced. As a great breakthrough away the traditional theory of equivalence and all important complement to translation theories, Skopostheorie opens up a new perspective for the translation practice and study. "Skopos" rule as the top-ranking rule for any translation, means a translational action is determined by its Skopos. Vermeer explains as:Each text is produced for a given purpose and should serve this purpose. There are also two subordinate rules in the "Skopos theory":coherence rule and fidelity rule. In this paper, the translation of the novel encountered two problems, which are the translation of the scenery description and the translation of the dialogues, from the perspective of the Skopostheorie, this paper made a detailed comparative analysis. At last, the study confirms the truth that Skopostheorie call really explain and solve the phenomena and problems in the translation practice, thus it has practically directive function.
