Shen Jing Shu "single Room" The Growth Subject Research

From the late of 1980s. the flourish of female writing in Korean literary world has continued to this day, which also has become a remarkable phenomenon at the turn of 20th century. Large quantities of South Korean writer who are famous for the unique feminism perspective and characteristic carefulness of female are becoming the beautiful scenery. Shin-Kyungsook is one of the distinguished among the second generation of South Korean women writers. A large number of readers from home and abroad give their attention to her works recent years, and even some Chinese readers join the ranks. Therefore, the thesis chooses Shin-Kyungsook. the Single Room be a research object to analysis and meanwhile combine with some other her works. The growing-up theme in " the Single Room" is regarded as the core of this thesis. I’m going to unscramble the road of hero’s growth, the history of country’s growth, as well as the treatment of pain during author’s growth.Through analyzing "the Single Room", this paper tries hard to not only do some in-depth study of its style, writing features and gist, but also desire to explore the growth and development of South Korean women writers and their works, which reflected in the growing-up theme. The thesis falls into three parts.The first chapter mainly described some related concepts of the "growth" and "bildungsroman", their origins, evolution and development. Particularly focused on the unique themes and content of growth of women in bildungsroman.The second chapter concentrated on the detailed and unique writing of the growing-up theme in’"the Single Room". On one hand, to show "my" growth with autobiographic feature of the author, which is unfolded by comparing the growth of Korean considered as a country in modern times with "my" growth, showing "my" urban growth experiences and looking back "my" childhood on rural. And also the author wants to show the changing of an era, which is expressed by individual self-growth an recognition, pursuit and suffering. On the other hand, the work attaches importance to explore "my" unique way to the growth from women’s group more while reflecting the patriarchal system and the women individual experience under the suppression of the nation. How did I come out from "my" own growth path through interacting and separating in between the image of two sisters and numerous female, and in which, also fully demonstrated the maturity of a young girl.The third chapter mainly discussed the writing features of "the Single Room". From the first-person narrative to describe the relationship between the work and bildungsroman. As a female, the author attaches great importance to details. It analyzes from the following aspects:the fragmented introduce, the scattered culture style and the narration of reality and fiction. Through grasping narrative features of the novel, it more comprehensively interprets the connotation and significance involved in this work.
