Citrus Changshan-huyou Y. B. Chang is a hybrid of Citrus grandis (Linn.) Osbeck and C. sinensis (Linn.) Osbeck in genus Citrus. It is widely distributed in Changshan, Quzhou, Longyou, Jiangshan and Kaihua regions of Zhejiang province, with the greastest population being found in Changshan. It is reported that plasma concentration is increased by grapefruit juices, when administrated simultaneously. In the domestric clinic, grapefruit juices was administrated with some medicine to improve therapeutic effects.It is demonastated that juices of Citrus Changshan-huyou Y. B. Chang can prevent some medicine being inhibited by CYP 450 in the test of rat liver microsome and enteral absorption. On the basis of the summary of Citrus paradise Macfadyen’s chemistry and pharmacology, we have taken a further study in chemical consituents of Citrus Changshan-huyou Y. B. Chang. From the ethyl acetate extract of the Citrus Changshan-huyou Y. B. Chang, by solvent extraction, repeated silica gel column chromatography, ODS column chromatography, sephadex LH-20, recrystallization and PHPLC,11 compounds were isolated from Citrus Changshan-huyou Y. B. Chang. On the basis of physico-chemical characters and spectroscopic analysis,9 of their structures were identified as: eriocitrin (1), neoeriocitrin (2), narirutin (3), neohesperidin (4), naringin (5), limonin (6),sucrose (7), daucosterol (8),β-sitosterol (9). Among them, compounds 1-4 were obtained from this plant for the first time.The fingerprint chromatography of Citrus Changshan-huyou Y. B. Chang extraction was investigated. Compounds 1-5, the main chemical constituents, were confirmed in the HPLC chromatograph, and juices of Citrus Changshan-huyou Y. B. Chang were analyzed by HPLC using narirutin, neohesperidin and naringin as the quality control criterion. This research will be providing a preliminary direction for the research and development of Citrus Changshan-huyou Y. B. Chang. in the future.
