Functional bloating is a gastrointestinal functional disease with a kind of subjective feeling of recurrent abdominal distension, whose clinical characteristic is abdominal distension with a slow course of abdominal expansion and apophysis, without organic lesion of gastrointestinal tract. The FB is not in conformity with the diagnosis of the Functional dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome and other gastrointestinal functional diseases. At present the FB lack of the targeted, stable treatment options because of the complexi ty of its pathogenesi s and the limited domest ic and foreign researches. Domestic reports that traditional Chinese medicine has certain curative effect in the intervention of the FB’s treatment, but lack of the standard of clinical trial design, dialectical classification scheme and clinical curative effect. Therefore to explore the effective therapy has clinical significance in reality. This research absorved and statistically analysed the clinical data of91patients with the FB in domestic5units, based on the unified and standardized scheme of dialectical treatment.ObjectiveExplore the feasibility of the therapy for the FB based on the standardized scheme of dialectical treatment. MethodsThe91FB patients included in the standard were observed and divide the patients into four types including liver qi stagnation, dampness-heat of spleen and stomach, spleen deficieney and dampness blocking and yang deficieney of spleen and kidney by syndrome classification. The patients were treated with lifestyle intervention and administration of oral decoction, and recorded the severity and seizure frequency of abdominal distension, borborygmus, anus exhaust, bleching, poor appetite and sitophobia; The abdominal girth through navel measurements on morning fasting and after a bowel movement and supine position with legs straight and the scores of the life quali ty scale. Before and after treatment i n patients with the data were compared. Results1.Total effective rate of the comprehensive curative effect evaluation is97.56%:The total effective rate of the improvement of the abdomi nal girth is81.715:the total effective rate of the improvement of the score of the life quality scale is82.93%.2.Before the treatment.the score of the comprehensive curative effect evaluation is27.67±8.88.after the treatment is4.40±5.24.Through the paired t test,p=0.000<0.01, there are statistically signifient differences. This prompt the treatmrnt can make the symptoms eased sigificantly. Before the treatment, the score of the abdominal girth is89.68±14.94,after the treatment is86.21±13.30,through the paired t test,p=0.000<0.01,there anr statistically signifieant differences, and theis means the treatment can narrowed the abdominal girth significanty Before the treatment, the secore of the life quality scale is34.96±10.03, after the treatment is14.94±9.59,through the paired t test,p=0.000<0.01, there anr statistically significant differences, and this indicates that this treatment can make the patients quality of life improved significantly. CorclusionThe establishment of a unified and standardized syndrome and response evaluation criteria is the innovation and feasible in this research.Innovation point of this study is to exolore the feasibility of the therapy for the FB based on the standardized scheme of dialectical treatment and for further clinical studies provide a clinical basis. But the design of this research has many deficiencies:1、insufficient subjects,2、lacking of control groups,3、short follow-up time,4、lacking of a more objective evaluation,5、insudffient basic researches. In the future, more subjects should recruited and use more formal experimental design. The follow-up time should be extended for further exploration of long-term efficacy.
