Meconopsis oliverana Franch is one of the genus Meconopsis plants in the poppy family. It is a medicinal plant and also an ornamental one. The whole plant could use as medicinal part. It contains volatile oil, flavonoids, alkaloids and polysaccharides. According to the Tibetan medicine book, it has a lot of different drug effects such as the clearing hot and detoxification, diuresis, calmative, Asthma relief, anti-inflammatory and pain relief.(1) The purpose of the research is to extract, to separate the effective components of Meconopsis oliverana Franch with the foam flotation technology, to verify the feasibility and to grope the various indexes of the foam flotation technology, Then it can provide reference data and technical support for the medical field. The optimum process condition of the foam flotation technology has been found by the test, including pH=8, extraction concentration (5mg/ml), NaCl concentration (0.3mol/L), nitrogen flow (25ml/min), flotation time (20min), no surfactant. The recycle rate is64.8%and purity rate is3.8through3parallel experiments.(2) The antimicrobial tests are experienced by using serial dilution tubes method and disc diffusion method. The bacillus and fungus chosen in bacteriostatic experiment is out of body. Petroleumether, diethyl ether, ethyl acetate and n-butyl alcohol are taken as solvent to successively extract ethanol extract of Meconopsis oliverana Franch. The strains are as follows: Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, rhizopus, aspergillus niger and penicillium. The result shows that alcoholic extracts have antioxidation activity effects on the chosen strains. When the concentration of ethyl acetate extract is high, there is growth inhibitory effect on Rhizopus and Aspergillus niger in vitro.(3) Meconopsis oliverana Franch is extracted using80%ethanol, and then is extracted by petroleum ether, ethyl acetate and n-butyl alcohol successively. The ethyl acetate-soluble fraction is further fractionated into five subfractions EAF1-EAF5by silica gel vacuum liquid chromatography. Antioxidant activities of different end extracts are evaluated by three different methods, and are compared with those of butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) and VC. The results show that the ethyl acetate-soluble fraction exhibits the highest AA at four concentration levels. EAF3is found is the most effective subfraction in three assays, which is greater AA than BHT and similar to VC in the DPPH assay at the concentration of50μg/ml, while, in the deoxyribose assay, the EAF3exhibits higher antioxidant activity than two kinds of synthetic antioxidants at all of four concentration levels tested and by the potassium ferricyanide reduction methods it exhibits higher antioxidant activity than BHT but lower than VC. The results show that the extract from Meconopsis oliverana Franch has apparent antioxidative activities in vitro.
