Purpose:Through retrospective observation, to find the differences of TCM syndrome type in Hypertension complicated with sleep apnea syndrome/SAS and SAS alone in patients, and the character is t ics of TCM syndrome types in hypertension complicated with SAS.Methods:This study collected80cases who were diagnosed with SAS in Department of respiration of the China Academy of traditional Chinese medicine Xiyuan Hospital from2010December to2012March, which were consistent with64SAS patients with the diagnosis of hypertension,16SAS patients without hypertension. Its symptoms, tongue, pulse, TCM syndrome, hypertension grading, BMI, AHI, the lowest oxygen saturation and other original data inputed, statisticsed, compared, analysised, finally summarized the clinical characteristics of the patients with hypertension and SAS and the characteristics of TCM syndrome types. Results:In this study,80%pat ients with SAS were diagnosed with hypertension. The age of hypertension combined with SAS group (group A) and SAS alone group (group B) patients have statistical difference. Sex, smoking, alcohol drinking, and BMI of two groups patients have no statistically differences. The TCM syndrome types of patients in group A is:Phlegm dampness syndrome (31.3%)>Stagnation of phlegm and blood stasis syndrome (26.5%)>Qi and yin deficiency syndrome (21.9%)> Qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome (20.3%). The TCM syndrome types of patients in group B is:Phlegm dampness syndrome (37.5%)>Stagnation of phlegm and blood stasis syndrome (31.3%)>Qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome (25.0%)> Qi and yin deficiency syndrome (6.2%).By the analysis of variance, age、AHI、blood pressure and the TCM syndrome type distribution of hypertension complicated with SAS has a correlation. AHI of phlegm dampness syndrome patients is less than that of Stagnation of phlegm and blood stasis syndrome,Qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome and Qi and yin deficiency syndrome. The most TCM syndrome types in hypertension1level is Qi stagnation and blood stasis. The most TCM syndrome types in2level is Phlegm dampness syndrome. The most TCM syndrome types in3level is Stagnation of phlegm and blood stasis syndrome mainly. The TCM syndrome type distribution of hypertension1level and3level have differences. Conclusion:Hypertension combined with SAS patients have excessive accumulation of Phlegm dampness syndrome, Stagnation of phlegm and blood stasis syndrome mainly. The patients number of Qi and yin deficiency syndrome types in Hypertension with SAS is higher than pure SAS.Hypertensive patients with SAS is characterized by the mixed types, stagnation of phlegm and blood stasis are the most common, and with development, patients with deficiency increase. In the early stage the syndrome is Phlegm dampness syndrome, With the development of disease, the syndromes of Blood s tasis, Qi and yin deficiency gradual ly become more. TCM syndrome types correlate age、hypertension grade、AHI、blood pressure. AHI correlates BMI.SAS patients have hypertension susceptibility, the morbidity rate of hypertension in SAS patients was higher than that of normal people. The prevalence of hypertension related to age in patients with SAS. Gender, smoking, alcohol drinking, BMI have no obvious correlation with hypertension complicated with SAS. These persons, such as elders, men, smokers, drinkers, obesities, prone to hypertension complicated with SAS.
