Objective:To observe the effects and security of scalp penetration acupuncture for Perennial Allergic Rhinitis(PAR)Methods:Sixty-four patients diagnosed as having perennial allergic rhinitis according to the diagnostic criteria were randomly divided into a treatment group of31cases and a control group of30cases. The treatment group were treated with scalp penetration acupuncture, three times a week,12times constitute a course, while the control group were given loratadine tablet(once a day) and azelastine hydrochloride nasal spray(twice a day), and for12consecutive days. Before and after the treatment and a followup survey of3months, we will apply the symptoms and Signs’ quantization table to assess the healing effect.Results:1. The total effect ive rate was96.77%in treatment group and80.00%in the control group. There was a significant defference between the two groups (P<0.05).2. Three months later after treatment, the total effective rate of the two groups was respectively74.07%and42.86%. The difference was signif icant statistically (P<0.01). The treatment group posses a better long-term effect.3. Both of the treatment group and the control group could decrease the accumulated points of clinical symptoms. Compared with the control group (P<0.05), the former is better than the latter. There was a significant defference.4.Three months later after treatment, the difference of the accumulated points of clinical symptoms of the two groups has significant meaning(P<0.01).5. Both of the two groups have the best effects on nasal obstruction symptom, while the worst effects on sneezing.6. Between the two groups, running nose improvement of the treatment group was more obvious than the control group (P<0.05), and no significant difference was found among the other three symptoms.Conclusion:Scalp penetration acupuncture to treat Perennial Allergic Rhinitis is effective and safe and is more likely to be accepted by the patients.
