People pay more and more attention as the morbidity of the Hepatocellular-carcinoma(HCC) is growing, especially the symptoms of it are always hidden. The research which was under the guidance of pattern indentification and the entirety theory of Chinese Medicine (CM) and referred to about52papers in this field from2000.1to2010.10combined current research development in the syndrome distribution of II-term of HCC. In the research, we selected97cases of this period, which included the symptoms<the tongue manifestation、the pulse condition and the laboratory tests, in order to describe the distribution’s features of II-term HCC in the syndromes of Chinese Medicine. The paper contained tow parts:the theoretical research and the clinical syndrome resaerch. In the theoretical research, there were three literature reviews. The first one named "The cognition and development of Chinese Medicine in HCC" introduced the cognition of Chinese Medicine in the cause and the pathological mechanism of HCC in different stages from the ancient times to nowadays, and it also included some famous Traditional Chinese Medicine doctors’experiences of the treatments by using Chinese herb together with my tutor Prof. Ye’s experience in this field. The second one called"The current syndrome research in HCC of Chinese Medicine" sumed up30-year’s resaerch results of the part by introducing the development of the foundation and diverse views of it. The last one reviewed the epidemiology, etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis and the treatment progress of HCC in western medicine and so on.The clinical resaerch based on the system of pattern indentification interviewed97patients in the stage of II-term HCC about the hepatitis virus infection history, the smoking and drinking history, their symptoms and some relative laboratory tests. After dealing with these data by statistic software SPSS17.0and consulting experts, we came to these conclusions:Firstly, people over the age of40especially with the infection of Hepatitis B Virus(HBV) showed high risk of HCC. Secondly, the main syndrome of II-term HCC patients is the combination of deficiency, which expressed the symptoms of spleen deficiency mainly, and the excessiveness of pathogen, which manifested the symptoms of qi stagnation and damp-heat in clinical. Also, Patients with spleen deficiency and qi stagnation and damp-heat feeled worse than other groups according to their symptoms’ grades. Meanwhile, blood stasis syndrome and yin deficiency syndrome are rare in this term in our research. Thirdly, the related laboratory tests showed none difference in different syndromes excluded Aspartic acid amino transferase (AST) and Alpha fetal protein (AFP) that were higher in the group of spleen deficiency with qi stagnation and damp-heat.
