Objective:To research the immunopathogenesis of acute bronchiolitis. Methods Testing Serum levels of IL-17、IFN-γ、IgE determined by ELISA or chemiluminescence in46cases of acute bronchiolitis (divide into24mild cases and22severe cases),20cases of viral pneumonia and15normal children.Results1. Compare for levels of IL-17:Serum levels of IL-17in infants with acute bronchiolitis[(26.91±7.13) ng/L]are significantly higher than those in the20cases of viral pneumonia [(21.96±5.62) ng/L](q=4.04, P<0.01) and the control [(13.56±5.18) ng/L](q=9.81, P<0.01). Serum levels of IL-17in infants with viral pneumonia are significantly higher than those in the control (q=5.37. P<0.01). There is no difference in serum levels of IL-17between the cases with severe bronchiolitis [(26.54±7.93) ng/L] and mild bronchiolitis[(27.32±6.31) ng/L](P>0.05).2. Compare for.Levels of INF-y:Serum levels of INF-y in infants with acute bronchiolitis[(7.07±1.86) ng/L] are significantly lower than those in the cases of viral pneumonia [(9.12±1.89) ng/L](q=5.91, P<0.01) and the control [(8.95±1.64) ng/L](q=4.89, P<0.01). There is no difference in serum levels of INF-y between the cases with viral pneumonia and the control(P>0.05). The serum levels of INF-y in infants with mild bronchiolitis[(7.93±1.72) ng/L] is significantly higher than those in the cases of severe bronchiolitis[(6.13±1.56) ng/L](t=3.7, P<0.01)3. Compare for levels of IgE:The serum levels of IgE in infants with acute bronchiolitis[(171.77±58.19) IU/ml]are significantly higher than those in the cases of viral pneumonia [(51.38±12.44) IU/ml](q=18.08, P<0.01) and the control [43.95±12.81) IU/ml](q=18.65, P<0.01). The serum levels of IgE in infants with mild bronchiolitis[(155.73±62.56) IU/ml] are significantly lower than those in infants with severe bronchiolitis[(189.27±48.49) IU/ml](t=2.02, P<0.05)Conclusion In the acute stage of bronchiolitis, the functions of Thl cells is inhibited and the functions of Thl7cells was increased. The imbalance of Thl and Th17plaied an important roles in nosogenesis of the acute bronchiolitis.
