In order to understand the uptake and using properties and the factors affect Nloss in sugar beet, three experimental methods, incubation, soil pot culture and fieldsplit plot trial, were conducted by the design of differences in soil type, fertilization, soilmoisture, soil pH, and the introduction of2sugar beet genotypes(HI-0466and SR-411).The main results showed as follow:1.1In the NPK treatment, the content and the absorbed amount of N in sugarbeet plant nitrogen rate and nitrogen absorption achievewere the maximum. Drymatter production efficiency of application of nitrogen in N fertilizer treatment ishigher than that in no nitrogen fertilizer treatment. The defference of Ddry matterproduction efficiency between the tow kinds of sugar beet genotypes was little.2.The analysis in nitrogen use efficiency, nitrogen agronomic efficiency andnitrogen physiological efficiency showed that, all this three properties in treatmentof NPK were higher than that of NP、NK, variety SR-411had a higher efficiencythan variety HI-0466. Concerning soil nitrogen using rate, the PK treatment gave ahigher value than that in the CK treatment.3.Sugar beet yield and sugar content in beet root of application of nitrogenfertilizer treatment was higher than that in no nitrogen fertilizer treatment. Sugar beetyield and sugar content in beet root of HI-0466were both significantly higher thanthat in SR-411.4.To compare with the variety of SR-411, nitrogen use efficiency of HI-0466was higher in chernozem, but lower in black soil. Soil nitrogen utilization rate ofHI-0466was higher in black soil, soil nitrogen utilization rate of SR-411was higherin chernozem. When the pH value of the soil was6.6, the nitrogen use efficiency oftow genotypes was higher than that in pH8.0. When the soil pH was8.0, the soilnitrogen using rate of tow genotypes were higher than that in pH6.6.5. The results of ammonia volatilization showed that, the loss of ammoniavolatilization appeared a increase in the shape of parabolic type with the increase of the soil absolute moisture content. The loss of ammonia volatilization was the largestwhen the soil absolute moisture reached to20%;The loss of ammonia volatilizationincrease gradually with the increase of soil pH; The loss of ammonia volatilizationwas different in different types of soil, and the loss of ammonia volatilizationdecreased with increase of fertilization depth.
