Trajectory correction projectile can detect the ballistic parameters on the fly. Then, it can command the corrector to correct the trajectory and improve the precision of firing efficiently. If it can only correct the range, it is usually called one dimensional trajectory correction projectileAccording to the literature found at home and abroad, the trajectory corrector is usually added on the fuze. Therefore, only the sharp and the configuration of the fuze will be changed partially. Thus, it’s convenient to intelligentize the conventional projectile. However, the trajectory correction fuze has some disadvantages. Due to the limit of the available space, the size of the parts is very small so that it’s difficult to manufacture them. Moreover, the size of the spoilers has to be reduced.In order to avoid the disadvantages of the trajectory correction fuze, this paper proposed a trajectory corrector installed in the projectile base.This paper took one certain caliber of one dimensional trajectory correction projectile as an example. Firstly, the correction mechanism positioned at the rear of projectile was proposed and its3D model was designed with CAD software. The kinematic and dynamic model was established and the analysis was conducted with LS-DYNA software. One of the parts was optimized according to the result of the kinematic and dynamic analysis. The experiments on the prototype validate the authenticity of the simulation. Secondly, flow field of the trajectory correction projectile was simulated with FLUENT software, and the drag coefficients were obtained. Thirdly, drag coefficient curve of the trajectory correction projectile was fitted using Logistic model. Finally, a model of exterior ballistic was established to analyse the potentiality of range correction.The results indicates that the correction mechanism positioned at the rear of projectile can provide the ability of range correction for the projectile. The test foundation for this mechanism is given for one dimensional trajectory correetion projectile.
